Aarefah Burhani is a 16-year-old poet who draws

inspiration from the mundane beat of life. With a

passion for words since childhood, she has always

relied on poetry as a means of expression of her

thoughts and emotions. A high school student now,

Aarefah juggles studies with writing, many times

penning down verses in between classes or under the

silence of the night sky. She takes inspiration

from the world around her friends, families,

and passes glimpses of introspection to craft

poetry that is honest, relatable, and true. Her poetry frequently

examines the beauty in simplicity and the

power that lies within vulnerability.

This book is her initial step at sharing her poetry

outside of her immediate circle, with the aim that her

words bring to life connection and comfort to others

who may find parts of themselves in her words.
